Richmond Wedding Photographer | Ashland, Virginia

Ashleigh + Austin met at Randolph-Macon College where the two went to school, and it was a twisty turn of fate that landed the two of them together! When Austin’s flight to Virginia from his hometown in Connecticut was delayed, he was placed in Ashleigh’s group at RMC’s Leadership Fellows Program. The rest, as they say, is history!

They spent a lot of time together growing closer in both their faith and their love for one another. A few years later Austin proposed to Ashleigh in the chapel at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

It was looking like Ashleigh + Austin’s June wedding in Ashland, VA at St. Ann’s Catholic Church was going to be my first scheduled wedding to be held as planned in four months as the nation began lifting restrictions. But as health concerns lingered, the couple decided to move ahead with their church wedding but cancel their planned reception.

And while I’m sure they were disappointed to miss that celebration with friends, we did find a little silver lining. With no reception to rush to after the wedding, we photographed a lot of family formals and then had extra time for two different locations for couple portraits!

We first headed to DeJarnette Park. I have to admit, I worked in Ashland, VA for 13 years and never knew this cute little park was there! I scouted this park out before their wedding and knew the tree swooping out over the water would make a beautiful backdrop with great lighting, and it did not disappoint!

Then we headed over to Randolph-Macon College to grab more portraits of the couple!

Ashleigh and Austin, it was an absolute honor to serve you both during this special season of your lives and to meet your sweet family. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together!!
