Main Street Station Wedding in Richmond | Lindsey + John

Lindsey and John had a classic Main Street Station Wedding on a perfect summer day in Richmond!

One of Lindsey’s bridesmaids, Danielle, is a past MAP bride, and it was good to see her and her hubby Taylor again! (I’ve been following along on their post-wedding journey with their precious baby on Instagram, but it’s really not the same—Ha!)

John and Lindsey met while both were attending college at James Madison University. They now live in Boston, but it wasn’t too long ago that they had taken a trip down to Virginia to visit her family. While Lindsey thought they were in town to celebrate her mom's birthday, John had other ideas!

They enjoyed the nice day by walking on the dock before dinner. It didn't take long for John to get down on one knee and propose to Lindsey. Once dinner was over, they continued to celebrate by grabbing drinks at another location, and when she walked in, her best friends were there as a surprise!

The couple and their wedding party got ready at The Omni Richmond Hotel in the cobblestone-lined Shockoe Slip Historic district to start the wedding day off. An elegant pair of earrings that belonged to one of her bridesmaids was Lindsey’s something borrowed. She was wore her mother’s classic three-stone engagement ring as her something old.

Lindsey wore a stunning Maggie Sottero dress that fit her like a glove. The front of the dress had a ruched bodice, cowl scoop neckline, and beaded spaghetti straps that flowed to the deep scoop back of the dress.

One of the joys brides share is having their best friends surrounding them on their wedding day. But one tiny guest’s sudden appearance meant one member of the wedding party had to send her well-wishes from a nearby hospital bed. . .

Lindsey's matron of honor was pregnant, and on the morning of the wedding, she woke up not feeling the best and realized she was in labor! Thanks to FaceTime, she was still able to chat with Lindsey and see how beautiful a bride she was. They laughed and said they always do things together, and it was no surprise they'd share a huge life milestone on the same day! Lindsey was also grateful her MOH had beenable to celebrate in all the festivities leading up to the wedding day, including the rehearsal dinner the night before.

The couple had a beautiful wedding ceremony in The Headhouse of Main Street Station. Huge windows wrapped the room with gorgeous soft light, making their ceremony almost appear it had been handpainted. After their ceremony was over, we had to take full advantage of taking photos both indoors and outdoors. This Richmond wedding venue is full of charm at each corner.

For their reception, they used large white floral statement centerpieces with just the right blue accents. As Main Street Station is already beautiful, the decorations were just the thing to enhance the Richmond wedding venue’s stunning architecture.

The speeches from all of their loved ones were filled with a lot of laughter. Family means a lot to both of them, so it was heartwarming seeing everyone enjoy themselves.

After dancing the night away and celebrating the newly married couple, all of John and Lindsey's loved ones lined up to create a bubble tunnel on the front steps of Richmond’s Main Street Station.

As they left the venue, they walked down the steps with the bubbles blowing toward them, and it was such a fun way to end their wedding. They rode off in a classic Jeep with the top down decorated in flowers and a "just married" sign on it.

Lindsey & John, it was an absolute pleasure to document your beautiful day. I loved being there! Your positivity is so energizing and contagious, and your love for one another is so apparent. All my very best wishes for a lifetime of continued happiness together!
