Marena & Tyler's Charleston engagement photos at Rainbow Row and The Battery featured another famous Charleston, SC icon--The Pink Figgy!

Shortly after my second shooter, Marena moved to Charleston, SC, her boyfriend Tyler popped the question! They had talked about getting married, and she knew a proposal was probably coming soon, but she didn't know quite when.

While I was bummed to lose Marena as my second shooter for my Virginia weddings, I was excited for her and may have stalked her Instagram just a little to make sure I didn't miss the significant milestone.

I reached out when I knew I would be in Charleston shooting an editorial for a Middleton Place wedding, and we arranged to shoot this couples session.

Charleston is one of my favorite places to travel. The cobblestone streets and beautiful architecture make for beautiful photos. This city gives off a magical vibe.

I parked right on Rainbow Row and walked down to The Battery, where we would be meeting up with The Pink Figgy! The adorable pink car is an iconic sight around Charleston. One of only 20k made, this rare convertible Nissan Figaro was made for the Japanese market and featured right-hand drive and a beautiful white leather interior!

The Pink Figgy made an already special session even more fun as the couple got to interact with the car during their poses with each other. I think it added an element of whimsy and took some of the pressure off 'posing' because the car was there to engage with.
