I'm Stacie Marshall, and I'm honored you've reached out. I want to learn more about you, your wedding plans, and your photography priorities. Connecting with my couples allows me to understand your expectations so that I can document their wedding in a way that your vision is realized.

I can’t wait to get to know you better. In the meantime, here’s a little bit about me.

• My career behind the camera began in television production, where I’ve even been honored to have won an Emmy. I’ve been shooting professionally for more than 20 years.

• I love film-inspired, ‘painterly’ images.

• My film and TV background have helped me become a better storyteller. My producing and directing skills come in handy as I corral wedding parties and efficiently capture family formals, getting folks to the cocktail hour quickly. I have also developed a keen eye for spotting and capturing those special unscripted, candid moments.

• I also have experience being super awkward and unnatural in front of the camera myself. Because of that, I’m now a master at spotting when someone in front of my camera is looking stressed or unnatural, and I know tons of simple tips for how to fix this. My sessions are a mix of candids, where the couple naturally engages with one another, and organic posing where I’m giving you clear directions on how to make adjustments. This combination really provides a great variety and shows off your true personality.

• Architecture, travel, beautiful landscapes, fashion, and art inspire me, and I think these passions come through in my work.

• I'm passionate about serving others abroad and have served in orphanages and small communities in Haiti, Vietnam, and Tanzania, Africa. Locally, I volunteer with Virginia’s Kids Belong, a non-profit agency working to end the foster care crisis in VA.

the WEDDING EXPERIENCE

ALL COLLECTIONS INCLUDE: photography timeline planning, travel up to around two hours/120 miles from Richmond VA or Charleston SC, basic editing, and color-correcting of all images, a beautiful online gallery of high-resolution images for sharing, downloading, and ordering images, plus printing rights. (For rainy weddings, I even have 10 white umbrellas and one big clear one for the bride and groom. . . just in case!) I deliver approximately 100 images per hour of coverage.

For these collections, I’ve grouped together the most commonly requested combinations. But because weddings are unique and don’t fit neatly in a cookie-cutter ‘one-size fits all’ mold, we can work together to build your perfect solution together. Wedding collections can be customized by adding or removing albums, engagement sessions, rehearsal coverage, and hours of coverage.

ENGAGEMENTS

Let’s go somewhere beautiful where the two of you can wander and connect. Choose a location that is meaningful to you or just somewhere that you’d like to explore together hand-in-hand. We can head to the mountains, beach, downtown, or a historic venue with classic architecture to serve as your backdrop.

I’m happy to brainstorm with you for locations, guide you with information on outfits that photograph well, and share a few simple posing tips so you’re experienced, confident, and comfortable on your wedding day. My goal is always to capture genuine, relaxed interactions between you. I’m always happy to travel for engagement sessions, too—I’ve headed to Girdwood, Alaska, and NYC, explored Harper’s Ferry WV, and joined a couple on a friend’s sailboat on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Travel up to 60 miles is included, and additional travel is easily added.

My SHOOTING STYLE

I love capturing all the unscripted candid moments throughout the day. During this time, you’ll hardly know I’m around. Discretely documenting these treasured moments for you will definitely one of my favorite parts of your day. At other times, such as family formals, I will need to take control in order to accomplish everything that needs to be done. Before your wedding, I will partner with you to craft a photography timeline that allows us time to comfortably photograph everything you wish, while preserving your time to enjoy your day with each other and your guests!

BOOKING

I have your date available, and we’ve decided we’re a great fit. Great! What’s next? Let’s connect via a Zoom call so we can chat about your wedding day vision and your photography priorities. This call also allows me to share my screen to show you a full gallery, and see some of my wedding albums and planning resources that I provide my couples. Once I have answered any questions you may have and you have decided that our MAPcouple Wedding Experience is what you’re looking for on your wedding day, I’ll send a booking proposal your way. You’ll be able to sign your contract and pay your retainer online. Shortly after, you’ll receive an ‘Officially Official!’ email from me in your inbox!

LEGACY ALBUMS

Because your images aren’t meant to hide on a hard drive, I recommend that couples consider adding an archival quality legacy wedding album. You’ll run your fingers across the embossed linen or leather in anticipation before you lift the cover for the first time. Imagine the weight of the hand-made album in your lap as you cozy up on the couch and relive your wedding day with the love of your life. And there’s no better way to preserve your memories for future generations to enjoy. It would be my honor to design an album for you. Legacy Albums for you and your parents can be added to any collection. I’m truly passionate about couples having printed photos in hand.

Wedding Gallery

In a matter of weeks after your wedding day, you’ll receive an invitation to view your images on a custom online wedding gallery. You will have the ability to print, share and download your images as much as you want. I believe in freely sharing your images because that is what I would want if I was in your place.

DESTINATION WEDDINGS + TRAVEL

Travel recharges and inspires me both creatively and spiritually. There’s nothing quite like immersing oneself in a new environment and embracing all the wonder of the world. In Vietnam and Thailand, they have a saying, ‘Same same, but different,’ that is both simple and profound. Though we all have our differences, there remain subtle nuances of commonalities that allow us to connect with one another. Some of my favorite places I’ve visited so far have included: Australia, Croatia, Italy, France, Iceland, Ireland, India, Haiti, Netherlands, Norway, Vietnam, and Tanzania, Africa. I love meeting new people and learning about the customs and cultures of other countries. I’m a seasoned international traveler, a master packer, and a champion of long flights.
